On first reading, we at clips HQ jumped for joy this morning when we read the statement from Ofcom (full letter below) announcing that as of January 1st next year, the evil ATVOD will be no more. Sadly, on closer inspection, it appears that other than the removal of Pa Ingalls – sorry, I mean Peter Johnson (a bit of Little House on the Prairie humour there for us oldies!) – as figurehead, in reality not much is going to change. It is simply that Ofcom are bringing regulation in-house. At least they have recognised what a giant waste of money the past five years of ATVOD has been, which is something.
For the FemDom community this means more persecution, though one can only hope that reviews and assessments will become fairer and from a less puritanical viewpoint… we shall see.
